The Past lies upon the Present like a giant’s dead body.
~Nathaniel Hawthorne, The House of Seven Gables
Racing is in my blood.
My father was a race car driver. My uncle was a race car driver. My brother just built a race car.
I raced midget cars when I was 5 years old. I crashed them too. I was only 5. I promptly received a red license when I was 19, and promptly lost it at 20.
There’s no escaping my history or my fate.
